Christmas Fair Fun
What a wonderful day we had at our Christmas Fair. Families arrived in droves to visit the fair and support our school and they had a great time visiting all our fantastic stalls.
There is always lots to enjoy at St Vincent's christmas fair, there was a new nerf gun challenge in the games room, great gifts to choose for parents in the wrapping room, toys and books to buy, cakes to decorate, crafts to make, chocolate kebabs to eat, jewellery to choose and of course Santa to visit in his beautiful grotto.
Many won great prizes in our chocolate, sweet, bottle, teddy and toy tombolas! Parents got to enjoy the international food, homemade cakes and Gaelic Coffee. Congratulations to our raffle prize and hamper winners!
We have raised just over £8,500 - an amazing amount. We are especially grateful for the many fantastic donations we received from our parents this year, Emma Clarke who transforms the jewellery donations to create her Girls World stall said "I wish I knew who sent the donations so I could thank them properly." The Beauty Stall, Kids Tombola and Wrapping Room also heavily rely on donations and were extremely grateful for all they received this year.
PTA chair Sarah Church thanked all involved. “This year we had over 100 volunteers running our fair, collecting donations, baking cakes and doing all the jobs behind the scenes to make this work, everyone works very hard and it is a great team effort. We are really proud of our Christmas Fair and thank all those who visited this year.
Headteacher Mrs Kwiatkowska added her appreciation. “Once again the Christmas fair has been a great success. I want to thank all the parents and pupils who helped and supported it. It’s been a terrific achievement by all involved. And of course, the money raised will be used in school to support your children.”
Autumn Term Round Up
School CalendarsThanks to those of you who have returned your money for our beautiful 2012 School Calendar. Can we ask people to please return the money or the calendar this week.
Ladies NightThe only place to be on Wednesday 30th November was Halo! Our third Ladies Night was another roaring success, we had a fantastic range of stalls selling jewellery, bags, clothes, beauty products, homeware, perfume and lots of gifts for Christmas.
Once again thank you so much to Halo, they provide a glamourous setting for this event and are so accommodating - they even provide the mulled wine! A big thank you to Mags Wood who worked very hard to co-ordinate this event. We hope everyone had a great evening. We are calculating a final total but we raised in excess of £1,500

St Vincent's Sings ChristmasIn 2003 St Vincent's Infant and Junior schools produced a Christmas CD. Every child singing on that CD has since left the school and we decided it was time to record our new generation of children. So if you have heard your children practicing Christmas songs you now know why! Each year group sang their own song, plus a song from the infant choir, junior choir, nursery and the teaching staff. The children were professionally recorded and the result sounds great. The CDs are £8 to buy, cheaper than in 2003, they come in a shrink wrapped CD case with colourful artwork so would make an excellent Christmas present. Due to copyright laws we can only produce 500 copies so they will be sold on a first come first served basis. A letter will go out in book bags next week but as it is approaching the end of term to speed up the process we will also sell them after school at both receptions on Friday 9th December. The children sound wonderful and the list of songs chosen are a great mix of lively popular tunes and wonderful classics. Here is the play list: 1. Sleigh Ride by Year 2
2. White Christmas by Year 5
3. Unto us a Child is Born by The Infant Choir
4. Rocking Around The Christmas Tree by Year 3
5. You Will Find a Baby by Reception
6. Merry Christmas To You by Year 4
7. The Angel Carol by The Junior Choir
8. Santa Claus is Comin' To Town by Year 1
9. Clip, Clop by The Nursery
10. Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star by The Nursery
11. Winter Wonderland by Year 6
12. Twelve Days of Christmas by St Vincent's Teaching Staff
